Well Oblivion seems good but isit as good as KF2? I can't decdie whether to get that game. Its really hard to find a first person game that is close to
KF2.

Oblivion and KF are completely different kinds of RPGs. you can't compare them.

you cant compare them. they are not the same type of game. one who likes one may not like the other. the only things they share in common are their
first-person perspective. the story, gameplay, and features are all completely different.
just look into some reviews.

In my opinion, Oblivion is fun for about 1 day then it starts to nosedive with repetition. The enemies and available equipment level up as the player does so
you never really make any progress. And enemies are never really dangerous; even if you increase the difficulty level, you just have to whack them with your
weapon more before they'll die. The quests are nearly identical and very repetitious- 'go to said place, kill everything that moves and collect the
loot'.
Unlike Morrowind, in Oblivion all the towns are nearly identical and there are only 2 or 3 different types of terrain. The player character doesn't really have any personality either. In KF, you play as a hero or in other games you can choose to be a hero or a villain, but if you want to complete all the quests in Oblivion, you'll be acting like a psychotic sociopath one minute and a valiant hero the next. I'd say that about 50% of KF fans like Oblivion and 50% think it pales in comparison. You might get lucky and be in the 50% that like it. Personally, even though they aren't first-person, I think Gothic and Two Worlds are closer to KF in spirit than Oblivion is. Like Hguols said, Arx Fatalis is the closest game I know of to the KF series. |

Oblivion is good if you like repetitive stuff that stays the same.
Kings Field is better if you like to think and plan ahead more. |

I agree, Arx Fatalis is similar to KF 2. Try it, you'll like it.

Apples and oranges, but, that being said, pick up Oblivion if your comp can handle it. Play through it once vanillia, then go here:
http://tesnexus.com/ And knock yourself out. The big staying power of the TES (The Elder Scrolls) series is that the games have been very open to customization. Both Morrowind and Oblivion come with construction sets for moding the game. I personally detest Oblivion's set, but that is because the quest/dialogue tool is some kind of byzantine Gordian knot. Making custom items is a walk in the park though (at least stat wise). King's Field 2 WIP(work in progress) mod http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17496 I might smack this mod around a bit and give it a whirl when I'm done beating KF1 for the millionth time. |

I spent probably over 200 hours on Oblivion and it's expansions. It's a lot of fun. You can say it seems repetitive, but at the same time, in my
opinion, so is King's Field. Walk, dungeon crawl, circle enemy, hack, and repeat. LOL! Both are fun games. You'll get a lot of mileage out of Oblivion.
As mentioned, the level scaling kind of sucks, but I can't say I didn't find it hard. I died plenty of times in my 200 hour journey. If you're a
fan of King's Field I would say you'll like Oblivion. You might not love it, but you'd find it worth playing, in my opinion.

If you're a fan of King's Field I would say you'll like Oblivion. I did, never finished the main quest and I still have so much ground to cover. I stopped playing because achievements went into an offline profile and I have been too lazy to create a new character and start all over. The only thing I hate about Oblivion is how hard it is to create a good looking character...love the Shivering Isles pack. |

If you have a decent comp, the spell effects in TES:IV are quite nice, but there are some mods that are more or less "must haves". Those being either
Midas Magic or Supreme Magika. You can actually install both, but they have some overlap. I personally recommend Supreme for balance of power, and Midas for
hilarity. A starting pure mage character is very, very, very weak in Oblivion, but Supreme helps balance this out quite a bit, while Midas is geared more
towards higher level craziness.
That is, not to say, you can't become hilariously overpowered in regular Oblivion. Whats that, create a spell that paralyzes your target and drains their life away into you? Don't mind if I do! |

"The enemies and available equipment level up as the player does so you never really make any progress. And enemies are never really dangerous; even if

For example, you can fight through the arena and defeat even the champion practically at level 1 because of level scaling, and yeah that's pretty lame. But these problems and more are fixed with usermods, so if you are going to play Oblivion, my suggestion is to get it on the computer so you can mod it into the game it SHOULD be.
