I meant to put a more detailed how-to with the patch but was a little short of time. I will try to upload an updated read-me soon.

A serious issue which I should mention since someone already had problems with it: if you are going to play the patched King's Field on a plug-in based emulator, some text might not show up using the video plug-in's default settings. This is an issue with the emulator and KF, not a result of the patch.

If you use 'P.E.Op.S. Software' video plug-in, everything will display fine. If you use one of 'Pete's' plug-ins, you will have to go to 'configure' and in the 'compatibility' area under 'Off-screen drawing' select 'extended can cause garbage' from the drop down menu. That should make all text display fine.

While 'Pete's' plug-ins make the 3-D graphics look crisper, they make text display unevenly and thus look a bit worse. 'P.E.Op.S.' makes the graphics look grainier (more authentic though) but the text displays better.

riftt: First you will need a program like Win-RAR to decompress the patch. Then, you will have to make a Bin/Cue type image of your original game disk with a program such as ISO Buster. Then, you will need to use a ppf patcher program like PPF-O-Matic to apply the ppf translation patch to the Bin/Cue image of your game. Lastly, you will need either a Playstation emulator such as ePSXe to play the patched disk image on your computer, or a Playstation console which has been modified for import/backup play. If you are completely new to this, you will need to do a bit of research and reading to get it going. Just Google some of the names above and you should find what you need. Good luck

Not only is it illegal to give out copies of a game, but since From Software has just released the Dark Side box which contains a copy of the original KF, it would be especially unfair to them to be passing out copies. It would hurt their ability to sell their product. The people at From depend on profit from things like the Dark Side box to fund future products (like maybe another KF installment). If they lose money on their Dark Side project, its all the more likely that there will never be another KF game.

If you want a copy, I would suggest you save up and buy the Dark Side Box or try searching on eBay regularly for kings+field additional. The Buy it Now listings at the end are where you usually will find King's Field imports.

While I can appreciate you zeal for the series, there's nothing like having the original piece of KF history in your hands. It took me about 4 months of searching eBay before I got my copy. I've seen 2 more on there since then, so just keep an eye open. Theyre not that expensive (around $25) and it'll be worth the wait
