"I have the 2 MP3s from the special music disk of Kings Field IV."
Where'd you get the cd from? Curious. |

*and stirrs a great darkness*
Long time lurker, eternal fan of KF, most dont remeber me, my old comp's hardrive crashed and i had to download all of these files over again to put them on my ipod.. i noticed you seek to know which songs belong in from which game? well i happen to be a total loser and just by listening to them i knew which games they were from. "Cathedral" - KF1(US) - Very catchy! This is from Orladin's Temple maze. "Colosseum" - KF1(US) - My personal favorite part of the game where you duke it out with the 6 mini bosses before you encounter that guy that shoot missles, i forget his name :P "Guyra" - KF1(US) - When you fight the last boss, Guyra "Opening Movie" - KF2(US) - Definatley not opening movie audio..Somwhere near the end of KF2 you hear this tune, i think this may be when you fight the "MAD" king. "Prologue" - KF2(US), this is definatley not a prologue, its a very good listen though, i don't know which area its from excatly, but i know its from KF2 "Seath" - KF2(US) - When you fight none other then... Seath! <3 Mr. EastSide you have no clue how much i enjoy listening to these soundtracks. Thanks. |

^ Thanks for the track listings. Technically that opening movie song does play during one of the cinematic sequences if you don't press start right away. But, like you said it's also in the game. I just ripped it from that opening movie section and thus didn't know for sure which part of the game it was in.

I found it online on a game music site. The MP3s sound different from the ones that were included in the game also are a bit shorter and the harpsichorde almost sounds like a guitar.

Did you forget Mr. East Side? I know last time I asked, you said you'd get them done mid summer - well, it's mid summer. Will it really hamper your schedule that much to put out the music for the title screen and deep in shudom's cave? If I could (or knew how to) do it myself, I would.... ^^^ HA HA HA!! I remember us talking about it. I had no idea you were still watching the progress. LOL! I'll dig my games out this week and see if I can
get it going. I have to find all my cables to hook it all up to my PC.

That's wonderful news! I'm looking forward to having those and a complete KFII soundtrack! Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.

Alright, I'm gonna get on this tomorrow night. However, I don't have any King's Field save files around anymore, so I have to start a game and play
through it, grabbing the music for each area as I go along. I searched to the high ends of the earth for some PSX save files so I could just have access to
everywhere right away, but there is nothing out there that will convert DexDrive save files to work on the PS3 which is what I'm going to be going through
the game on. ETA will probably be around a week if everything goes smooth.

I'm guessing that not everything has gone smooth, because its been three weeks.....
I don't know why you're just not using ePSXe or PSXfin to play KFII on the computer and record from the line in.... <rant>I ended up using PSMplay to rip a few other things you missed for King's Field II - title screen, guyra restoring the moonlight sword.... I think just those two. I can rip KFII movies with that program too! It's kind of neat! </rant> ANYWAY.... I've been looking for ways to rip the KFII music myself - turns out they're .seq on the disk..... Other games, its easy to make a soundtrack because they're .xa audio..... just extract to WAV, WAV to MP3.... Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.

RE: | ||

Well, I tried using some PSX emulators as well as just some PSX PC tools that are supposed to be able to extract audio and it's been a pain in the azz
beyond belief. I'm pretty computer savvy too and none of these progs I've been trying have been working. So my only other option was to play the actual
game and rip the music from the actual areas once I reached them. Of course it's not as easy for me as it once was to sit down at a game for 30 hours to
make it all the way through.

but there is nothing out there that will convert DexDrive save files to work on the PS3 which is what I'm going to be going through the game onSure there is. do you have a dex drive? if you have that and a PS3, all you'll need is the PS3 memory card adapter. $15. OR, you could just post the dex drive save for me to download, and I can re-post it for you in the PS3 format for you to download and use.

Well, I don't have a DexDrive. And I was reading around about converting them to PS3 save files, but the only site I could find that had a topic on that
was in a thread where some guy said it was really hard to convert them to PS3 save files so I kind of gave up on that idea.
There is a link to the save file provided by gamefaqs. The file is already at the end of the game with the character beefed up. If I had access to this file I could just fly backwards to all the areas instead of having to play through the game and reach them all myself. If it's really not hard for you to convert then it would be help beyond belief. I just gave up since the one topic I read on the subject the guy said it was a hard thing to do. http://db.gamefaqs.com/co...e/kings_field_cdexter.GME |

It's not hard to do at all. just use the dex drive to put the file onto a memory card, then stick that in the PS3 memory card adapter and convert it. 5
minutes, if that.
just gotta find the dex drive.

well.... | ||

MrEastSide, I simply got tired of waiting and used PSmplay to rip all the music from the KFII movies (directly), and used PSXfin (with some adjusted audio
settings) to line-in record the sequences....
I really do hate the phrase "If you want something done right, do it yourself" because I like to count on people, but let me at least say thank you for a complete KF:TAC soundtrack. There were actually a few more KFII tracks you missed than I thought. I've got 38 tracks and the ones with speaking in them are not even included (for easy listening's sake). Most of your missed ones were game excerpts you didn't include like the faery fossil, guyra restoring the moonlight sword, the giant bolder throwing skeleton, the dream (that anyone has heard if they've stayed in an inn).... etc. but you did miss a few themes, like the music around the Vallad Tree, Shudom's Cave, the music after Seath is defeated and the music deep in Shudom's Cave. The format is 96kbs WMA, but being directly ripped from the PC, they're louder and clearer than any cord recording from a console. Here's the track list: (I ordered them in chronology to the game) 1) Opening Cinematics 2) Title Screen 3) Demo 4) Receiving the Excellector 5) Quist 6) Garrison Barracks & The Palace of Wind 7) Fire Magic Learned 9) Wind Magic Learned 10) Shudom's Cave 11) Earth Magic Learned 12) Deep Shudom's Cave 13) Shudom's Grave 14) Path of Poison 15) Lake Noel 16) Water Magic Learned 17) The Path of Thieves 18) The Cave of the Dwarf 19) The Ruin of the High Elves 20) Orladin's Temple 21) The Place of the Beginning 22) The Path to Vallad 23) Vallad 24) Cason 25) Land of Garan 26) The Dream 27) The Passage of Death 28) The Hill of Prayer 29) Royal Cemetery 30) Faery fossil 31) Guyra restores the Moonlight Sword 32) Verdite Castle 1F 33) Confronting King Alfred 34) Verdite Castle 2F & Alfred's Theme 35) Alfred Defeated 36) Seath 37) Seath Defeated - Verdite Restored 38) Ending Credits Oh, and anyone who wants to get these in all one bundle, you can get them by clicking here. Enjoy. Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.

^^^ It's nice of you to get some music for everyone. Like I said, I tried a few PC programs to try and simply get the music quickly, but nothing I used
would just get me all the tracks right away. I couldn't seem to get anything to work other then actually playing through the game. If I could have figured
out how to just extract them all in a few hours I'd have had KF1 done like, 2-3 years ago. LOL!
