If you want to see a younger Vincent Price, briefly, screen The Invisible Man Returns, made by Universal in 1940 and starring Vincent in the title role.

Vincent played an unsympathetic character in Laura, but he wasn't the villain of the movie. The villain was the killer, who was played by Clifton Webb.

I only keep track of emotionally memorable last lines in movies. Here are three more:

"Why was I not made of stone like thee?"

"I believe this is our dance, mother."

"Ethne, your feather!"

Appropriately enough, the "tingler" feature was first featured in the feature The Tingler. Maybe game players who want a similar jolt could achieve that effect by figuring out a way to use their vibration controllers while sitting on them.

I'm probably in the minority, as usual, but I think the vibration function is creepy; so I always turn it off. I won't miss the vibration function when using the PS3's controller. I also keep my feet firmly on the ground by turning off the bounce-while-you-walk feature in KFTAC.

Back to the subject at hand. King's Field may be down, but it isn't down and out. A new player of KFTAC e-mailed me out of the blue yesterday for some help in overcoming a little problem: She had the first magic spell, but she had used all of her Magic Points and she didn't know what to do. Such a vacarious experience keeps King's Field alive for me.

Unfortunately, the King's Field Additionals sword cuts both ways. If the sales of those two games for the PSP are sufficient to encourage FromSoftware to revive the King's Field series on a big-screen console, the company may also believe that the games' new features such as 2D graphics and a casino are the draw. If so, such non-traditional new features would also be incorporated in a big-screen King's Field game.

I can see it now. The King's Field series will be revived by King's Field: Revenge of the Krakens for the PS3. The game opens on the deck of The Royal Kraken Gambling Barge, which is run by a coterie of supposedly reformed Krakens who have been given the power of speech by The Darkest One,
the eternal ancestor of you-know-who. Mark Johnson the Appraiser Monk has moved on from his holy duties as an appraiser to a more lucative calling. He now runs a pawn shop on the deck of the barge for unlucky adventurers who are down to their last sword.

The hero, Sir Val of Verdite, confidently strides across the deck and enters the gambling salon, where he stands before four grinning Krakens, each of whom is using its bejeweled tentacles to spin four roulette wheels. Mesmerized by the sixteen revolving roads to riches, Sir Val puts his fortune and his future on the line while travelling minstrels Harvane and the Heralders chant the latest Ode to Orladin from a stage made of boards balanced on the backs of kneeling Log Stalkers.

And so it goes.

Not if that "Something" is King's Field in name only, like the King's Field Additional games. Those games manifest a radical departure from traditional King's Field game play. Agetec has turned its corporate back on those games for good reason.

So it's a matter of mixing apples and oranges in a King's Field bowl. That's a fruit salad I don't care for.

Why don't you guys who support King's Field Additional 1 and 2 for the PSP come clean and admit what really attracts you to those games! You are a bunch of die-hard gamblers who can't wait to get into that casino.

Peace of mind is a wonderful thing, even if it is based on intentional ignorance. I'm oblivious to Oblivion; so I don't go around in circles thinking about what that 360 experience has to offer.
