Yes, there is a difference with how updates are handled. MS requires the latest version of the game be run or not at all. Sony has to "approve" updates. But that doesn't mean Sega isn't totally without fault. Why aren't they escalating the issue with Sony? The 1.5 regulation update came out in Japan around September or so (possibly earlier, I don't remember). That's 6 months, and no updates in North America. PS3 version is still stuck on 1.4. Meanwhile, I'm pretty sure they're up to 1.7 in Japan now. So Sony needs to get off its butt and Sega needs to make them.
I won't argue anymore about the year-long wait, as that pissed me off as well. Like when Nexus came out and then shortly after info for Nine Breaker started coming out getting me excited when I had barely played Nexus. And then while Nine Breaker was being localized, Last Raven info was spewing out of Japan, making me drool over it instead. What got me was that Last Raven launched in Japan before Nine Breaker ever was out here, completely destroying my anticipation of Nine Breaker. That's when I decided to stop looking for info on new games from the AC community and buried my head in the sand. It was just too much.
So I hear what you're saying. Yes, we did wait a while for some of the Agetec releases. However, I won't take back what I said that they still had heart and listened to the fanbase. I felt better about getting AC from Agetec, rather than the Sega conglomerate machine. The only good thing they did was get it out faster.
