This Fifth Roll Call lists the 71 members who posted comments on this board during the one-year period from August 2006 through July 2007. (The phrase "better late than never" comes to mind. I hope it applies here.) Two members used two names. The first three Roll Calls are set forth in the topic "The King's Field gang's all here - in the Roll Calls." That topic can presently be found on page 9 on this board's index. The First Roll Call lists the 260 posting members for January/February 2002 through July 2003. The Second Roll Call lists the 128 posting members for August 2003 through July 2004. The Third Roll Call lists the 88 posting members for August 2004 through July 2005. The Fourth Roll Call is set forth in the topic "Fourth Roll Call for this discussion board." (What a surprise!) That topic can presently be found on page 8 of this board's index. The Fourth Roll Call lists the 94 posting members for August 2005 through July 2006. More than six years have passed since King's Field The Ancient City - the last true King's Field game - was released in North America. The Roll Call numbers - 260, 128, 88, 94 and 71 - tell a tale of understandable lessening interest and commendable continuing hope. Seems like only yesterday when me and the gruesome looking Dark One were knocking..... heads. I really miss playing a new King's Field. The games were really something special, and I always looked forward to continuing on with my journey each night in search of new spells, weapons, armor, etc... The overall atmosphere of the game is just so unique. There really is no other game like it in terms of slow paced gameplay, wonderfully full of dread, solitude and that completely immersive exploration. I've played all the others out there over the years, beat them, and either traded them in or sold them, except one series.... King's Field... the ultimate treasure, worth it's weight in gold. Six years later, and I still hold a barely flickering candle for hope of another one. I may end up in complete darkness like one of the KF dungeons, cold, musty, full of spiders and bats, but I refuse to die!

Posts: 38 (03/14/08 20:52:18) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I think it's fascinating that - after all this time - there are those of us who still return here frequently to 'check up' on the status of the board and hope-against-hope that news of something new has surfaced. Granted, it's always highly unlikely that something special is on the horizon (after all, we've waited six years since the last installment)... but - for me - this series means so much and is so unique that I can't help but keep it in the front of my mind when i'm doing my daily forum-crawl. No matter what any one says - this series SPEAKS to us - and we continue to hold out hope for a continuation of the genre, if not the series. Here's to another year of faithful fans and passionate gamers! Keep the hope alive, y'hear? : )
